Skipper had a rough start in life, and was left alone with other animals in an abandoned house.  The owner would only come back to feed them once a day.  When Skipper first arrived, he was very withdrawn and would hide in the back of his kennel.  Now Skipper enjoys spending the day playing with his adoptable friends Max and Peachtree. He also enjoys sitting in the front lobby in a nice cozy chair with Buddy volunteers.  Skipper would do best in a home with another dog (to give him company) or someone who is home most of the day. We are currently working with Skipper on his separation anxiety as he is afraid that he will be left alone for his entire life.

If you are looking for a dog, who lay and snuggle with you in bed and stay there till morning, be your best friend, enjoy going for walks, or hang out on the couch and watch a movie, Skipper is your guy.

If interested in meeting Skipper, it might be best to plan on coming for multiple meet and greets, so you all can get to know each other.  With any rescue dog, please allow Skipper time to get settled as this is a new environment for him.
